My Friend Manoj was one amonst them from Andaman & Nicobar Islands
One day I was passing through the great PC chowk with my family in our small maruti. My son noticed the chnage in the contours of my face. papa! You look so happy suddenly. what is the matter? My car stopped on the PC BRIDGE. I started remebering the golden days we have spent on these roads with full of Joy and some days with overflowed sorrow. i can not say I was a lucky few to be here now,but lost 11 friends in PC. I can not forget the unwanted breavery of crossing the Mahanadi in the bee hours, the late night gossips, my best friends like Mihir,Satchi,Rati,Manas, Sarmistha to name a few. I can n’t forget the great professors like NP,BSP, Kanungo sir.Our word boys,canteen staff( i do n’t know whether Gopal canteen is still there.) were the people behind our golden moments.
Whenever I feel like going to UCE, i prefer to spent some time in IIT-B campus where my kids study.
One cannot dispute that one makes the best of friends at UCE and receives decent education at UCE, but have we thought why only a handful of students come back and feel nostalgic about their college. Its because below all these goody-goody and namby-pamby veneer is an utter distatste that each of us have because of being subjected to, at some point in time, indifference of our teachers or indiscipline of our college authorities. We eugolise the strikes, bu have we thought why are there so many strikes at UCE, and more importantly why do they recur and what comes out of any of these?? I touched upon these topics in my editorial in the 2003 college magazine but sadly not much has changed! I like, any of you, would like to see my alma-mater right there on top, but a college and university where reobatining one’s Degree certificate takes months, and still you are not sure if you will ever get it back, only God help it!! Indifference…indifference all the way…the attitude ‘why do I care’, let it be important to someone, how do I care! I made a donation 2 years back but my name never appeared on the donors list. I am not complaining but just wondering even if it was accounted or used at all? I am sure you, I and many others would love to contribute if we can see through till the end point as in where is our money getting used. But alas..wishes were horses! I still love my college for the friends I made and the fests and few classes, but that would be it. As I said in my editorial in 2003, students can be son-like if teachers and authorities be father-like. One day, I hope. Amen!
2006 Galaxy soft copy was with prof B. S. Baral, Vice President of Galaxy 2006. He left UCE in 2007. So I dont have the soft copy of Galaxy. Sorry for the same, but I will try to talk to Prof Baral for soft copy
I stumbled upon this site today and was pleasantly surprised that such a site has been created for UCE alums. Coming to India sometime this year. Will visit UCE and hope to meet folks.
Extremely happy to see the Wordpress version of Alumni site. Kudos to all the students who are a part of this. Can we have the team list please.
Also while we get accustomed to this new version of alumni site, can we have the old one active. This will help us continuing activities while getting familiar to Wordpress.
The 2008 egalaxy here displays only MCA and Electrical branch. So it is my sincere request to people of my batch ( 2008) ,who are having soft copy of the same, to help complete the same collection in this website.
I`ld like to place a request here: whoever from 06 batch is responsible for eGalaxies update in the site, please do it.

The evening of 26th December 2009 brought back a lot of memories – the good, the bad and the ugly. Nevertheless, it was worth every moment I spent my time in the crowd of my classmates. It was a wonderful show of camaraderie and fun. What I recall most from the evening was a funny poke by Debdutt – `ae chhuati kahara?`… (no malice intended)
