This Year-2012, the Annual Meet of Alumni, UCE/VSSUT, Burla is fixed on 16 th December’2012 (Sunday), 9:00 AM at Institute of Engineer, Bhubaneswar. As tradition two batces, ie 1975 & 1976 will be Felicitated along with Student Toppers of all branches ,VSSUT, Burla of Final year on the basis of result of Pre-Final year too will be felicitated. The meet will be followed by Lunch.
All the Alumni of UCE/VSSUT, Burla and Faculty working and retired are coordially invited with FAMILY to attend positively to make it a grand success. It is Alumni function means your function so ventilate to your batch mates and other Alumni in & around you to attend it to cherish the sweet memory along with old boys company.

Respected/Dear Alumni,

It is a splendid performance by all the stakeholders of VSSUT before the UGC team on 17th September. Starting from the painstaking efforts by the teachers, staffs and alumni of our alma-mater for the last few months under the guidance and leadership of our Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.K. Nanda, we have performed our best before the UGC team.

The Bhubaneswar alumni chapter initiated the momentum with a warm welcome and provided excellent hospitality to all the members at the Bhubaneswar airport followed by a lunch at Hotel New Marion. Three enthusiastic alumni  M.K. Mohanty, N.B. Choudhury and  B.K. Panda have travelled all along from Bhubaneswar to Burla (above age 65)  to join hands with alumni and Executive members of Burla main chapter. The whole UGC team were thrilled to see the proactive response of our alumni and remarked that “UCE/VSSUT ALUMNI IS UNIQUE IN THE COUNTRY”.

The team is very much impressed and pleased with our effort, which was finally concluded with a great dinner sponsored by alumni association at Ashok Nivas of Hirakud Dam on 17th September Night. Let’s hope for the best to get the coveted ugc 12 b status soon and 17th September 2012 will be remembered as a special day in the History of VSSUT.

Special thanks to all the alumni members, faculty members, staffs and the students of our university for this great effort.

Dear Alumni,

The whole idea of starting the alumni newsletter was to bring the alumni closer to their alma mater and to keep them posted on the happenings of the University. We did it well in 2010 and did receive a lot of appreciations and suggestions. However, due to some circumstances, we could not publish any issue in 2011. But, we now have a bright team of students who have come together and have put this issue, with some recent happenings which is bound to have your head held high as an alumni.

I am sure you will enjoy this 2012 Q1 issue of the newsletter more than we enjoyed putting the facts together for you. This issue features the dawn of the auto era in VSSUT and narrates the quest of the students in the recently concluded BAJA SAE India 2012. We also bring together a lot of pictures which depict the state of things in the University and the story of the recently concluded annual Festivals at VSSUT among others. Welcome to Issue-II of “Monday Morning”.

1.       Recently, “Resonance” has been organised jointly by the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Electronics & Electrical Engineering of VSSUT. Resonance is a national level Student Symposium. (Report of Prof. Panda is attached)

Monday Morning II

The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology’s (VSSUT) Samavesh-2012, its four-day annual techno management festival, was inaugurated on Thursday.

Students of several colleges of the state are participating in the festival. Events like robotic, technical paper presentation and programming are organised for the students. The best performers will be distributed prizes on the closing day on Sunday. On the opening day, Pawan G Agrawal, chief executive officer of the Mumbai Dubbawalas, delivered a lecture. Managing Director of Boeing Research and Technology, India, Dr Bala Bhardwaj, writer cum entrepreneur Durjoy Datta and motivational speaker Akash Gautam are to speak during the festival.

Fun programmes like acrobatic and pyrotechnic shows are also be held. The Music Club of the university will also perform during the festival. Around 200 students from other premier institutions of the State are participating in the event.

It’s a nice experience and the questions put by the judges and the audience are challenging, Subhasis Debata, a participant of Business Plan event said. This is an opportunity for technocrats to gain knowledge about technologies and businesses. This is the seventh edition of the Samavesh, Debabrata Panda, media head of the festival said.
